There is one magic statement you will have to keep repeating to yourself on a daily basis. And that is “Always focus on your strengths and never on the weaknesses”. Strengths are our positive points which help us to build our future from the basic fundamentals. Weaknesses pull us down. We soar and grow high due to our strengths and when we really concentrate on them our self-esteem finds a new lease of life. If you even think about your weaknesses, you will feel bad about yourself and your self-esteem will take a downturn.
Think about yourself for a moment. What qualities within you, do you think, attracts other people towards you? What are those things which you do best? What are all your strengths? And there will be more than one – just give yourself some time to reflect positively. When you get the answer for the above three questions, you will find that the answers are the same. Your strengths are the things you are great at doing and what attracts people towards you. Meditate often and find the inner you to build up on these strengths. Each one of you will have a different set of strengths and weaknesses as well. If you want to be happy and want to attract more goodwill towards you from others, you will have to concentrate on your strengths and project positive thoughts out towards others in turn and thus expand your physical aura that surrounds you as well. In this way your positive presence will precede you and people will sense your ‘good vibes’ ahead of you and it will set the tone of interaction with others which will reflect positively back on yourself.
If you are trying to achieve your goals through hard work and perseverance, consciously make an effort to stop brooding over your weaknesses. It is better to stay away from them than thinking about them. Play a mental game with yourself here – for every negative thing you think about yourself counteract it with a positive until one day your positives outweigh your negatives, you’ll see. The negative energy of your weaknesses will only sabotage you from the inside and cause your energy to spiral down. Whenever you mentally beat yourself down for your weakness, you are unconsciously going on a guilt trip and lowering your self-esteem. This is where you will start believing that you are worth less than you are.
Alternatively, you can build upon your confidence and make your energy spiral up through positive thinking. Focus on your positive qualities and what you are good at. This will surely do well for your ego and self-esteem. A positive mind is what is needed to reach your goals and achieve your dreams. A negative mind can only lead you to failure, irritation and finally despair.
Make it your personal challenge to meditate and reach out for your inner vitality. Concentrate on self-development and see your inner vitality and energy grow even beyond your expectations.
